I think individuals have a responsibility to be moral, and art inevitably reflects that… Still, on a certain level, art can and does detach itself from a subjective moral experience. We can’t know anything about the artists who created the cave drawings at Lescaux or Chauvet Cavern; their work has to stand for itself, and does.
