Artist Esao Andrews imagines what Mary Shelley might have looked like when she was young. Very few pictures of her have survived, and none from the time when she wrote Frankenstein at age 19. Those, along with whole sections of her journals, were destroyed later by her and her daughter. But the way Lord Byron and Percy Shelley tell it, she had a singular sort of beauty.
