Fields of the Nephilim: One of the more hard rock flavored bands on the list, Fields of the Nephilim’s greatest strength has always been their knack for writing killer hooks. Carl McCoy’s low toned vocals counter the band’s shimmery guitars beautifully giving songs like “Moonchild” an extra touch of melody. The band’s image, influenced by the legendary “spaghetti westerns” of director Sergio Leone, was perfectly in tune with the cinematic scope of their musical arrangements. Although Fields of the Nephilim never reached the commercial heights of some of their goth-minded musical allies, their early albums still inspire today.
I think this list, overall, is pretty amusing - let’s just say one or two of these bands aren’t like the others - but ugh, Fields of the Nephilim is my UTTER FAVORITE. Still, to this day, I wanna wear a gunbelt and dust myself with flour before leaving the house.
